A dental implant replaces a missing tooth root with a titanium post surgically placed into the jawbone. Once it has integrated with the bone — a process called osseointegration — a crown is attached to restore the visible tooth. Implants are the modern standard for tooth replacement because they preserve bone, feel and function like natural teeth, and have excellent long-term outcomes.

Who is a good candidate?

  • Missing one or more teeth — from a single tooth to a full arch.
  • Adequate jawbone volume (or amenable to grafting if bone loss is present).
  • Healthy gums and good general health.
  • Non-smoking, or willing to stop for the healing period.

Types of implant work we do

Single implant

Replaces a single missing tooth without affecting adjacent teeth — the key advantage over a traditional bridge.

Multiple implants

Replaces several adjacent missing teeth using individual implants or a small implant-supported bridge.

All-on-4 / All-on-6

A fixed full-arch restoration supported by four or six strategically placed implants. The right solution for patients missing most or all of their teeth who want a stable, permanent alternative to dentures.

Immediate-load implants

Temporary crown placed on the day of implant surgery. Not suitable for every case — requires adequate bone and careful occlusion — but avoids the gap-tooth period.

Pricing comparison by implant type

The price difference between implant brands matters. We use internationally recognised systems only:

  • Premium brands (Straumann, Nobel Biocare) — highest long-term track record, typically higher cost.
  • Mid-tier brands (MIS, Hiossen) — excellent clinical outcomes, more accessible pricing.
  • Every option in our clinic is a globally certified brand. We do not use generic or uncertified implants.

The procedure, step by step

Local anaesthesia, one to two hours per implant. Day-case.

The implant is placed into prepared bone. Osseointegration takes three to six months in the lower jaw, four to six months in the upper jaw. Once the implant is fully integrated, the crown is placed.

For patients travelling from abroad, we typically plan two visits: implant placement on the first trip, crown placement on the second, roughly four to six months later. In selected cases we can complete everything in one extended stay.

Recovery

Mild soreness for a few days. Soft diet for the first week. Normal eating within two to three weeks. The implant continues integrating silently for months afterward; you only feel surface healing.

Risks and realistic expectations

Honest risks: failure of osseointegration (three to five per cent long-term), peri-implantitis (gum inflammation around the implant, preventable with good hygiene), and — rarely — nerve or sinus issues that careful imaging prevents.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do dental implants cost in Istanbul?
Dental implants at Estetica cost €950–€1,200 per implant, including the titanium post and crown. Turkey offers the same implant quality as Europe at 50–60% of Western prices, and many patients combine their treatment with a city visit.
How long does the implant procedure take?
The surgical implant placement takes 30–45 minutes per tooth. However, the full timeline from implant to final crown is 4–6 months, during which the bone integrates around the implant. Our team guides you through each phase with checkup visits.
Will dental implants hurt?
The implant surgery is performed under local anesthesia, so you won't feel pain during the procedure—only pressure and vibration. Post-operative discomfort is typically mild and managed with over-the-counter pain relief for 2–3 days.
What is the success rate of dental implants?
Dental implants have a 95–98% success rate when placed by experienced surgeons and properly maintained. At Estetica, our implant specialists have over 15 years of combined experience and use only premium-grade implant systems.
Can I eat normally after implants?
For the first 2 weeks, stick to soft foods like yogurt, soup, and mashed potatoes. After 4–6 weeks, you can gradually return to normal foods. Once the crown is fully integrated (4–6 months), you can eat anything without restriction.
