Hollywood Smile

A Hollywood smile is a complete smile transformation, typically using 8 to 20 veneers or crowns (usually EMAX or zirconia) across the visible upper and lower teeth. The goal is a symmetrical, bright, well-proportioned smile calibrated to your face rather than a generic template.

Who is a good candidate?

• Patients seeking a significant aesthetic upgrade across multiple teeth.
• Discolouration, chipping, minor spacing, or alignment issues not requiring orthodontics.
• Willingness to commit to irreversible tooth preparation.

A Hollywood smile is not the right operation for minor corrections — whitening, a single veneer, or short-course clear aligners may be better. And it is not a shortcut for major alignment problems that orthodontics should address first.

Veneers vs. crowns

Veneers

Thin shells bonded to the front surface of the tooth. Minimal tooth reduction. Ideal when the underlying tooth is structurally sound.

Crowns

Full-coverage restoration. More tooth reduction required. Necessary when the underlying tooth is compromised or a veneer cannot achieve the aesthetic goal.

Shape and colour selection

Colour and shape are selected with you, using digital smile design software. We will push back honestly against colour choices that will look unnatural against your skin tone and eye colour. A Hollywood smile that looks like a Hollywood smile in photos — not real teeth — is a failed outcome.

The procedure

Typically three to five working days. Consultation and digital design day one, tooth preparation and temporary placement day two to three, final cementation day four or five.

Risks and realistic expectations

Tooth preparation is irreversible. Veneers and crowns need replacement every fifteen to twenty years. Good oral hygiene and regular cleanings are not optional. We discuss these commitments frankly before starting work.
